Half this job is figuring out where to put the truck. Triple-deckers and two-families line Main, Broad and Newport Avenue with no driveways, so when the parking ban drops we're running tag-and-tow calls half the night and there's nowhere legal to stage. We plan for that. Winch-outs off a snowbanked curb on a Woodlawn side street take a different setup than a flatbed pickup out in Darlington or Oak Hill, where at least there's a driveway to work with.
The other half is I-95. Exits 27 through 30 back up hard at the river bridge, and a breakdown in that stack is a live-lane problem, not a shoulder problem. Since the commuter rail station opened, Dexter Street traffic moves differently than it used to, and getting a wrecker near Slater Mill or the old McCoy site during a Tidewater event means knowing the back way in. Lockouts, jump starts, accident recovery, impound release — same crew, same trucks.

My car got towed during a snow ban. How do I get it back?
Call us with the plate and we'll tell you whether we have it or whether the city moved it to a municipal lot. If it's ours, you'll need ID and proof it's your vehicle to release it.
Can you get a flatbed down my street?
Usually, yes. Narrow blocks near the Central Falls line are tight with cars parked both sides, so tell the dispatcher the cross street — sometimes we'll send a wheel-lift instead and walk the car out.
